Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure to enlarge small breast or breast that has lost their fullness. Among the gender reassignment surgery, the breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures and we can do it together with SRS.

Types of implants

Breasts that are too small or too big can both cause problems for women. For small breasts, atrophic breasts after breast feeding, and a mild degree of breast ptosis can be corrected easily by breast implants with small scars in the armpits. Women who have giant breasts and desire smaller ones will have to accept some visible scarring on the breasts after the operation -- but it is worth it. Western people usually develop nice scars but Asian people usually develop keloid scar tissue.

The type of implants placement of optimal result is over muscle or under muscle placement being depending on your chest skin thickness.Most of my patients’s breast enlargement surgery were placed undermuscle except their need to be done over muscle, however ,I suggest you have done undermuscle better. If the pinch skin thickness in chest area is less than 2 cm, undermuscle placement is mandatory for optimal coverage and minimal log-term compromises and risks. If pinch thickness is more than 2cm, over muscle pocket location is an alternative option, provided that the trade-off of over muscle placement are acceptable to the patient and are documented in informed consent forms. That is natural touch, shape and size. You can make boths breast coming to midline or both breasts closely and get natural looking breasts. I know some doctors like me to do the breast placement under muscle, this technique is easy and prevent from the breast hardness. Also, if you are skinny type of body, I would like to advise you should do this under muscle placement better.Mostly ,I will do implant under muscle if I can choose it. There are new technology breast implants and need more experience with surgical high skill, either and maybe hardness of breast mostly from your genetic tissue. Nobody knows this unknown cause.

Regular examination by your plastic surgeon and routine mammograms for those in the appropriate age groups at prescribed intervals will help assure that any complications, if they occur, can be detected early and treated.
